Govt Schemes For Rooftop Solar

PM Surya Ghar Yojana

Introduction

India is making significant strides in promoting renewable energy, and one of the most promising initiatives is the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. This government scheme is aimed at encouraging households to adopt solar energy, reducing electricity bills, and contributing to a greener environment.

What is PM Surya Ghar Yojana?

The PM Surya Ghar Yojana is a government-backed scheme designed to provide financial assistance to households that wish to install solar panels on their rooftops. By harnessing solar energy, participants can generate their own electricity, reducing their dependency on conventional power sources and contributing to environmental sustainability.

Key Objectives:

  • Promote the use of renewable energy in residential areas.
  • Reduce carbon footprints and promote sustainable living.
  • Lower electricity bills for households.
  • Provide financial assistance to make solar energy more accessible.

Understanding the PM-KUSUM Yojana

The PM-KUSUM Yojana, launched by the Government of India, aims to provide financial and infrastructural support to farmers for the installation of solar pumps and other solar energy projects. The scheme is divided into three components:

  1. Component-A: Installation of decentralized ground-mounted grid-connected renewable power plants.
  2. Component-B: Installation of standalone solar-powered agricultural pumps.
  3. Component-C: Solarization of existing grid-connected agriculture pumps.
